SEAME is conducting two research projects, in collaboration with the Department of Science for Nature and Environmental resources (DIPNET), University of Sassari (Italy).

Pelagic cetacean project

The project focuses on seven pelagic species of cetaceans inhabiting the Caprera Canyon, an offshore area North-east of Sardinia in the central-western Tyrrhenian Sea, an important region for cetaceans in the Mediterranean Sea.

The project aims to study the bottlenose dolphins occurring along the north-eastern coast of Sardinia (Italy), in the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park and the International Marine Park of the Strait of Bonifacio.
